The volunteer committee for the 5th annual Creemore Festival of the Arts wishes to thank everyone who supported and enjoyed the exhibits and shows around town last weekend. The Weight of Paper is both an experience and an art installation. Under the guidance of paper artist Liz Eakins, community members of all ages have contributed to this participatory art project. The Weight of Paper explores a conventional material in a contemporary installation. It examines the way we communicate and connect and contrasts the ephemeral nature of paper with the permanent effect of what is written upon it.

From watercolours to oils, sculpture to photography, Artists on Location showcases the works of approximately 45 artists in businesses, studios, and homes throughout the village of Creemore.
Get the most from this arts weekend when you start with the group show at the Station on the Green. The show features work from each participating artist and a large map (and volunteers!) to help you find your way.

The Face of Cliff depicts the values and textures of a vibrant way of life, now past. Basic and slow-paced, Cliff Lindsay’s life was also rich in awareness, resilience, and sustainability. Three decades ago, Paul Eprile photographed Cliff and his house. These large images, combined with poems and artifacts, open a window into a lifestyle that is almost lost to us today. The Face of Cliff offers us a chance to explore how the past informs and enriches the present, especially during times of accelerating change.

Artists on Location 2016Artists on Location 2016 is now accepting registrations for the fifth annual event on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2. Each year, artists and artisans are embedded in the community of Creemore, providing visitors with a lively mix of art and commerce.
Artists on Location provides an opportunity for artists of all skill levels to display and sell their work at local businesses, studios, galleries, restaurants, homes and green spaces in the vicinity of Creemore’s main street, Mill Street.
The event is anchored by a group exhibit in Creemore’s “small hall”, the Station on the Green, showing one piece from each participating artist and featuring a large map (and volunteers) to help visitors find artists around town.
The deadline for registration is Friday, August 19, 2016.

1. Your name
2. Your personal information (email, website, phone number and address)
3. Briefly describe the original art you create, and will represent in person at the event.
4. Attach an image of your art. This image may be used by the organizers to market the event.
5. Let us know if you have a preferred location for showing. We can’t guarantee you will be placed there, unless you have made arrangements with the location owner.
Before final acceptance, you will be asked to pay a registration fee of $50, payable by PayPal, cash or cheque. Cheques can be made out to Purple Hill Arts & Heritage Society and mailed to 10 Caroline Street E, Creemore, ON L0M 1G0. You will then hear from the organizers with next steps as the event approaches.
